Feedback loop between TECHNOLOGY, politics, and economy
The speed of development results from the synergy of various technology fields.
Law of accelerating returns Kurzweil’s law of accelerating returns hypothesises that the pace at which technology evolves speeds up drastically over time due to a common driving force pushing it forward. He posits that technology is very similar to the biological evolutionary process but instead of genetics being passed down, it is inventions that change and develop quicker with each generation His theory is that the acceleration can be quantified in the ‘returns’ of the technology by variables such as speed, performance, efficiency and power. All factors that are also influenced by time.

Mustafa Suleyman - new wave
Asymmetry — it creates a leap in capabilities where an input leads to an asymmetrically outsized output
Hyper-evolution — because there are compounding effects on the pace of innovation with each new capability, the pace of evolution will increase, with powerful new tools being creates on the order of a few months rather than several years, as with the previous waves (exponential).
Omni-use — the same fundamental framework can be used to create a vast range of tools and capabilities - GPT (general purpose technology)
Autonomy — each new wave was allowed us to create tools that have helped us require less labor for various tasks. At first, it was mostly physical, but lately the tools allow for even lower cognitive input. The new wave will lead to systems that would require even lower human effort, or even supervision.
